Bad Mamee

I am a bad mummy....I let Benny eat Mamee noodle snack for breakfast today....erm but at least its without the super salty powder....

He licked the bowl clean

Actually, I used to eat Mamee noodle snack everyday for recess in school when I was little (with the salty powder).....so maybe that's why he likes it so much....haha.

Here he is on another day with a much healthier breakfast:And a shot of my happy accident:- the result of spraying way too much Maya Mist (copper) and Glimmer Mist (daffodil) on my page. I like how the Maya Mist changes the Sepia Accents bumps from pinkish to a nice coppery colour and I like how the mist pools to form weird stains. (that's the kaya squeezing out of the bun! Haha)

I couldn't seem to make nice looking loaves of bread from the paper, so made cookies on the page instead.

And what did you have for breakfast?

Recycled Rainbows

How to Use Up Patterned Papers and Embellishments You Don't Really Like (anymore):

1. Cover your embellishments with book paper so they will match any project.
2. Cut patterned paper into skinny strips and use them to make rainbow coloured embellishments3. Paste strips of patterned paper onto cardstock, paste a mask or a stencil over it (I made a letter 'S') and whitewash all over. Then stamp onto the whitewashed areas.
I used up 15 different sheets of patterned paper making this book. (I had a different colour scheme for each page) Not that its very much of a dent in my scrapbook stash.....but hey, its fun trying right? haha.

Lumpy, Bumpy and Brown

I'm done with all my three classes for March..... And here are some sneaks of the hinged canvas album I made. As you can see, its done in my very very favourite style - aka lumpy, bumpy and brown!Hubby helped me screw in the hinges and now its already to be delivered to Laine's where it will join my other 2 class samples.

- the 7 Gypsies book with Multi-Needle Coptic Binding and
- 3 layouts for my layout class.

Done done done done!

Oldies are Goodies

I had fun working with this "Vintage Postcard Kit" from Crafty Secrets. Its got all these really cute vintage pictures and pre-cut chipboard shapes and even a set of vintage image clear stamps to match. (love the little bunnies....they're in the heart)
I like to whitewash vintage images a bit with gesso or whitepaint to 'tone them down' a bit - cos otherwise I find too many of them together is a bit overwhelming for my tastes.
And I like to combine them with storybook paper and (fake) stitching. The red MT washi tape works surprisingly well on it also....some of the image shows through a bit, which is nice.

Seeing Red...

Chinese New Year is just around the corner, I thought I'd share something red(dish) with you since its the colour at this time of year . I'm not a big fan of Chinese New Year but I am quite a big fan of red....especially when paired with black and white

Layout Title: "The Best Little Girl in the World....No Contest"
Incidentally, Beth snapped this photo of herself.

Happy Chinese New Year you guys!

Playtime at the Ngoo House

The critters have been playing with Lego:
- building their own Lego city
- making Lego star wars 'movies' with my camera (homemade stop motion animation!)

Indy at the movies (I love how he and the bad guys are watching together)

And mummy has been playing with all kinds of fun stuff and calling it work (aka designing class for March):
- sewing with 4 needles at one go
- rubbing ink into everything
- stamping every where
Quote for the day: "You don't stop playing because you grow old....you grow old because you stop playing."

Wood is Good

I like the new wood veneers from Creative Imaginations. Check it out: you can stamp on it, ink it, sew through it, but strangely....can't seem to burn it! - the pyromaniac in me was a leeetle bit disappointed.
