- Laine's was this tiny little 'goldifsh bowl' of a store in the corner (near the toilet)?
- We had lovely shag carpet on the floor (courtesy of the previous tenants - a lingerie shop)
- We had classes in the middle of the store, sitting around that small table - maximum 6 people, and people would walk around us while we had class going on (and sometimes make comments)
- Classes were simple - like "Ribbon Class" or "Inking Class"
- we had Laura Ashley brand patterned paper
- it was just me and Elaine teaching classes and Nancy, Cyn, Iver and my mum did retail
- we sold French General jewellery kits and memo boards
- there would be nowhere to walk whenever new stocks arrived
and hey, here's a big thank you all the friends who have supported us and been with us since the beginning - we remember your kindness to us and your smiling faces most of all.
Oh yes, I remember those days. When your shelves were customised for lingerie and there was a floral scent in the air. And yes, that tiny little table in the middle... :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You've come so far!
Hahah! The word I had to type out for verification of my earlier comment was "linger". How apt that the former tenant was a "lingerie" shop. muahahah!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to that unit. Only been to the present one. Laine's is such an awesome place to shop. I love the concept & a very nice place to shop. I wanted to meet you, maybe next time :) Yeah congrats!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Elaine and Sharon, and everyone else! I remember that store, I remember the vintage jewelry class I took, and I still have the French Laundry Jewelry Tool Kit!
ReplyDeleteE, I knew you could do it, even if you were certain yourself! J.
So nostalgic (the photo)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for bringing us such lovely stuff every week for the last 5 years. It's been such a blast shopping there, scrapping and fostering meaningful friendships.

HEY HEY HEY!!! I still have the 2 pieces of paper that I bought from Nancy from that store!! It was probably the most expensive piece of paper I bought then. I think that I should take that out to scrap! Wahahahaha!
