A Sleepy Kind of Day

I didn't get quite enough sleep last night......and today's weather isn't helping....so I'm feeling a little like this right now:

Benny reading "Everyone Poops" by Taro Gomi

But just so you know I'm not a total pig, here's what I managed to finish today:

I listed out some of my favourite things (and yes, rainy days is one of them) and used lots of my favourite Purple Onion stamps here and there - especially in the background.

I'm too lazy to list out all the stamps I used, so you will just have to take a closer look ok? Heh heh.Ahhh......rainy days....

October is Approaching

Laine's October class line up is ready! (Check it out)

Besides the book binding class featured in my last post, I also designed 2 layout classes for October:

1. two Layouts using glossy cardstock (Had a happy accident on this one!)2. three layouts using Jenni Bowlin materials (there's a hidden flip mechanism in one of them)Also be sure to check out Jaz's Angels class! (awesome!)

The class schedule is out and I'll be looking forward to seeing all of you in class! Will be teaching on one of the Saturdays, so I might get to meet some of my 'weekend students' that I haven't seen in a while.....it will be fun!

Indulging

In a spot of tree-climbing....
Tree-climbing is compulsory module in Ngoo curriculum

And a little book-binding...

This one is going to be a class in October. We'll make the book from scratch and bind it using a modified ribbon-bound spine (aka Sharon made up her own binding and doesn't know what its called)

Here's a sneak of the cover....7 Gypsies Conservatory collection - YAY!!!
And the spine...deliciously messy and textured. (actually I might mess it up some more)I'm off to finish the layouts for October's layout class. Show you sneaks of those soon!

And hey, if you don't mind a little spot of stitching, come hang out and do some bookbinding with me in October K?

Rust We Must

If you told somebody you wanted to make something look rusty on purpose, they'd probably think you're a bit crazy.....but those of us who love all things vintage don't think its so crazy right? haha.
That's what we did at this class:
This box was made from what was originally a chipboard album /box set. (The accordian album became the sides of the box).
It involved a lot of Washi tape / gaffer tape as well as a lot of 'rusting'.
Rust Recipe:
1. Stamp/emboss on chipboard using greenish embossing powder (I used a teal coloured one) - be sure to stamp in a 'anyhow' manner - 'cos rust doesn't have patterns right?

2. Rub distress ink all over the chipboard being sure to rub the ink into the chipboard

3. Rub Staz On ink over the top to colour the embossing powder a bit here and there.

Quite fun....and I must say quite 'realistic' - very happy with how that turned out. And I also love that I got to work with all the 7 Gypsies tags and vitange images.
Hope you all had fun at class!!! I'm so glad that many of you were inspired to make more boxes and put your own spin on it!

In Rust we Trust!

My Mind's Eye

Here's a layout I made with the new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collection:

Layout Title: "You're the Only 1 Who Can"
Journaling: give me a shoulder ride,...
tickle 'chop' me silly,...
be my papa,.....
You're the only one who can

I am seriously liking the muted colours and vintage style. And for some reason, I was very pleased with this little hanging pennant made out of a toothpick and some twine.Loads of other papers and embellishments available at Laines and PaperMarket of course.

Reminiscing....

I used to scrap like this:Then it turned into this:All because I discovered inks, paint and stamping..... (incidentally, this was the first layout where I used paint with my rubber stamps - was very scared at the time, but boy am I glad I did!)
