Rust We Must

If you told somebody you wanted to make something look rusty on purpose, they'd probably think you're a bit crazy.....but those of us who love all things vintage don't think its so crazy right? haha.
That's what we did at this class:
This box was made from what was originally a chipboard album /box set. (The accordian album became the sides of the box).
It involved a lot of Washi tape / gaffer tape as well as a lot of 'rusting'.
Rust Recipe:
1. Stamp/emboss on chipboard using greenish embossing powder (I used a teal coloured one) - be sure to stamp in a 'anyhow' manner - 'cos rust doesn't have patterns right?

2. Rub distress ink all over the chipboard being sure to rub the ink into the chipboard

3. Rub Staz On ink over the top to colour the embossing powder a bit here and there.

Quite fun....and I must say quite 'realistic' - very happy with how that turned out. And I also love that I got to work with all the 7 Gypsies tags and vitange images.
Hope you all had fun at class!!! I'm so glad that many of you were inspired to make more boxes and put your own spin on it!
