What Benny Spends His Allowance On:

Benny Quote: "I love seaweed.....because it's seafood!"
All papers from majadesign (except the book text of course!)

p.s. Did you see the word fish in the tiny magnifying glass???? - that one little word made me soooo happy 'cos it was totally unplanned. Haha....scrapbooking is very therapeutic don't you know?

Some Things just have to be pink

Its sometimes just not appropriate to rub brown ink or black paint over everything...
Not when you have a photo of this little sweetie to work with....So, when you can't rub brown ink all over, try coloured ink! (Here I used Bundled Sage and Tattered Rose Distress Inks over the white embossed words) Here's a closer look:Some Observations:
1. Stamping with grey ink on kraft cardstock is nice...
2. I love the little sparrow....real sparrows are very cute in real life too.
3. Pink and teal look nice together.
Fussy cutting.....pink layouts.....Hmmm very uncharacteristic....don't worry, dirty inky messy Sharon is still in here somewhere. I'm very sure she'll be back soon (with a vengeance!)

This Was Fun....Tedious, but Fun

The majadesign papers are full of very lovely intricate flourishes and vines that are just begging to be cut....or in this case, traced / re-coloured in black pen...
Regretted a bit when I started out, but then I really like the final effect.
There is no stamping on this, so its all pen work and rub ons. (You can tell I'm trying to be all "scrapbooking martyr" here...."oh, how I 'suffered' - haha)

This was fun.... :)

A December Class Favourite

Here's a project that was one of my favourites among the December classes.
(A very special thank you to all you lovely ladies who attended this class! :)

Altered multi-drawer box (from Karen Foster)
My favourite bits are actually the sides...(2-colour stamping on the back of Hambly screen print)And here's what's inside...A closer look....where you can see some 'fake wood' on the left sideHow to Fake Your Own Woodgrain
1. Rub a candle over a strip of kraft cardstock. (Be sure to NOT draw with the candle like a pencil but to rub the full length of the candle across the paper)
2. Rub distress ink over the strip, rubbing in circles to get the ink into the gaps.

Not real wood, but not bad. :)

Now to do some packing and put all those little drawers to good use! A little bit of spring cleaning before Chinese New Year comes?

Making the most of the last few Vacation Days

Beth had her best buddy over for a sleepover...
They 'baked'...played dress up...and all kinds of girly thingsAnd me? I amused myself with a little scrapping...
Layout Title: Her Royal Highness Princess Butthead
Journaling: "Doesn't matter what your name is, if you act like a queen, they'll treat you like royalty" (Lots of Purple Onion frame Stamps on this one... :)

I am enjoying the last few days of 'laziness' before school begins...and just being quiet and reflecting....there is much to be grateful for.
