In a Bit of a Pickle...

I am so very happy and honoured because Veronica gave me one of these:

Thank you so much Veronica!

And here's the pickle part:

Along with the award, I'm supposed to share 3 things I enjoy doing - How can I just pick 3 things??? There's loads more things I enjoy doing. I need a top 40 list! haha. But oh well....how about these..?

- eating potato gratin
- hugging - anyone and everyone
- laughing - as often as I can

And even more pickle-y is:

I have to pick 5 blogs to pass this award on to.....aaargh! (tears hair) how to choose only 5???!!! But choose I must, so.....I choose

Betty -because she is my brave and artsy good old buddy and always game to try out new things in her creations

Ed - because she is sweet and always so giving and effortlessly makes scrapbooking and crafting a lifestyle to share with others

Felicia
- because she is such a lovely and sweet gentle person who is always ready to share and has a fresh way of using scrapbooking products.

Jaz - because she is so kind and humble despite being the queen of layering and because I can never figure out how she finds space to tuck in so many things on her layouts.

Merdrey -because she is sweet, shares my sense of humour and puts weird things in her layouts and thinks in 3D

Shirley - because she is warm, funny and has a true love for scrapbooking (especially the products right Shir?)

So, ladies......if you are passing the award along, please remember to:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award
2. List 3 things you enjoy
3. Nominate 5 people to give the award to

Welcome to the pickle barrel! haha.

Now Its Only Pink Where I Can't See It

It started out like this:
And ended up like this:one side
other side

As you can see, there was no hot pink in sight anywhere after I got done with it - very pleased with myself about that.

Some fun ideas to share:

1. Paint is great for lazy (or lousy) people - I painted all the edges of the suitcase with cream paint and even used it to hide my lousy papering job around the buckle and handle. You can tell everybody it's supposed to look 'rustic' - haha!
2. Sometimes it's ok to steal from your children - Beth's school exercise book pages made for the perfect background for all the nostalgic Sassafras Lass paper.

3. The tiny stuff is worth the effort - the frames above were made from this sheet of Sassafrass Lass paper (Anthem collection - wall of fame) and each of them has 2 layers.
Step 1: Cut out a framed picture that I like
Step 2: Cut out matching frame for that picture and remove the 'inside' with a knife
Step 3: Glue your frame on transparency and cut around it
Step 4: glue frame (now with 'glass') over your chosen picture with foam dots.

You get a really cute mini picture behind 'glass...tedious but very nice.

Would you carry this suitcase and walk down the street? I think I know a little girl who just might....

Who doesn't like New Things?

1. The Critters have new furniture....(before this my children have always slept japanese style - mattress on floor)

2. I have a new desk... Yay!!! No more scrapping on the floor for me! It's getting bad for my back. And on the desk are a few cards for a Christmas card-making class in November - 4 more cards to go!......aaargh....making cards is PAINFUL!!!

3. And...I have more new projects for November classes

My favourite: An altered canvas lunchbag....inspired by Claudine Hellmuth's collage style
And three semi-vintage style layouts for the November layout class:

Lots to be thankful for!

Cool!

1. our creative team has expanded! (I'm probably the last person to announce this and everybody probably knows it alreay, but hey! still just as excited!)

Welcome ladies!
2. The little helicopter stamp from Unity Stamp's Cosmo Cricket "Joyride" set.....too much cuteness!

Used the stamp set on this little travel -themed album.

And here are a couple of other pages... did I mention there's also a cute camera stamp inside?I'm thinking all these cool stamped images can be recycled for 'boy' pages eh?

This little album's gonna be parked at Laine's Papeterie if you wanna have a closer look at all the pages.

I'm off to go make more stuff. Deadlines approaching.... See ya!

Up in the Air.....but grounded

Nothing like seeing your work published in a magazine to get you floating....
And nothing like hubby's grubby feet stepping on said magazine to keep you down-to-earth..... heh heh.

More Silliness

There are 2 of them now...and they've got names.... (pink one's Roley, white one's Poley)....

And here's the little man responsible for starting it all...

Layout Title: "You will Always be My Baby" (That's like some Mariah Carey song or something right? Hmm...)

He was quite the roley poley himself

Artsy Observations: Flinging paint onto paper is highly satisfying, as all messy experiments are.
Go get silly, get messy, get happy!

HOT TIP!!!: All you lovely ladies who signed up for the "ANTHRO" class this month (thank you thank you by the way!) - I highly recommend that you bring along your favourite metal charms / vintage buttons / vintage findings etc to the class. You won't regret it! See you then!!!

My Family is Funnee

A little toilet humour to start the day
courtesy of hubby and the Critters

I am treasuring this time of our lives - when mummy hugs are still welcome and kisses given freely and generously, when I get home-made paper presents and home-made Critter concerts complete with curtain and spotlight.

Layout Title: "Berry & Me"
Using lots of my favourite Purple Onion stamps: Brocante Set (the swirls), Butterfly, stems and grass set, single stem (flower), what's the point (hand), bare tree, round scallop ledger label, fanciful labels, small number block set (square with stars)

When you don't have green mist, remember what your teacher taught you in primary school! blue + yellow = green! Yay! It works! (You can tell I am quite easily impressed)

More to enjoy today. Have fun!
